The Jami Payne Southard Memorial Scholarship Endowment
A scholarship endowment has been created by the family of Jami Payne Southard. The Spencer and Sander families established this scholarship to honor the memory of Jami, a Lake Dallas High School alumna and proud former LDHS High Stepper. This scholarship will create a $1000 award annually for a graduating member of the Lake Dallas High School High Stepper team.
Amy Koch Future educator Memorial Scholarship endowment
Friends and colleagues have established the Amy Koch Memorial Future Educator Memorial Endowment to honor the memory of Shady Shores Elementary School special education teacher Amy Koch. Amy passed away July 12, 2022 after a lengthy battle with cancer. Her career in education spanned 25 years with 16 of those in Lake Dallas ISD, all of which were at Shady Shores Elementary in the ALE classroom. The scholarship will be awarded annually to a Lake Dallas High School senior who plans to major in Education and specialize in Special Education.
Dr. Donald dolezalek, Jr. Memorial Scholarship endowment
Don's beloved family has chosen to memorialize his life through the establishment of this endowment for a graduating senior of Lake Dallas High School who intends to major in engineering, or a career in the medical field as well as someone that has been involved in high school athletics or band. It is their hope that recipients will benefit from this scholarship and continue Don's legacy of community service involvement and professional and academic achievement.
Coach Cosper Memorial Scholarship Endowment
The Coach Cosper Memorial Scholarship Endowment was created by the family and friends of Coach Bill Cosper upon his unexpected passing in February of 2021. Coach Cosper was a beloved coach and teacher at Lake Dallas High School and his loves ones hope that the establishment of this scholarship will honor the exemplary work ethic and enthusiasm for life that Coach Cosper displayed.
Tonya Lyons Monden Future Educator Scholarship
Established to honor long-time LDHS educator, Tonya Lyons Monden. It is the hope of the Lake Cities Education Foundation that through this scholarship we can provide a lasting tribute to Tonya's impactful career as an educator by providing scholarships for students who plan to major in Education.
Robin Hasserd Memorial Teacher Grant Endowment
Friends and family of Robin Hasserd established the Robin Hasserd Memorial Teacher Grant Endowment to honor former Lake Dallas ISD teacher, Robin Hasserd. Robin worked as a first grade teacher and Reading Recovery teacher for 18 years at LDISD. Her devotion to her students and the teaching profession left a lasting impression on so many. The Robin Hasserd Memorial Teacher Grant Endowment will provide funds for an annual award for an innovative teaching grant in Robin's memory.
Kent E. Gladen Memorial Endowed Scholarship
Established to honor LDISD coach and teacher, Kent Gladen, it is the hope of the Lake Cities Education Foundation that through this scholarship we can honor our colleague and friend, Kent, and hope that the future recipients of his scholarship will create a lasting legacy of his devotion to his family, students and community.The Kent E. Gladen Memorial Endowed Scholarship will provide a scholarship for a student majoring in Education, Medicine, Engineering or Hospitality Services.
Carol Heidemann Memorial Endowed Teacher Grant
The Lake Cities Education Foundation awarded the first Carol Heidemann Memorial Endowed Teacher Grant in December of 2018. Her endowment was established by family and friends to honor the memory of her generous and loving spirit.
Gene Halley Memorial Endowed Scholarship
Established in 2013 in honor of long-time LCEF supporter, George Halley. Though he lived in Canada, he supported LCEF for many years with his generosity.
Matthew Webb Memorial Endowed Scholarship
Matthew Webb Memorial Endowment was established in memory of 1998 Lake Dallas High School graduate, Matt Webb, who was killed in a tragic tanker truck accident in November of 2007.
Jason Powell Memorial Endowed Scholarship
The family and friends of Lake Dallas High School graduate Jason Powell have established the Jason Powell Memorial Endowed Scholarship in memory of this upstanding young man. Jason was an exemplary student and beloved son, brother, husband and community member.
Tyler Morse Memorial Endowed Scholarship
Family and friends established the Tyler Morse Memorial Endowed Scholarship to honor Tyler, a 2004 graduate of Lake Dallas High School whose life was tragically cut short in 2013. A gifted musician, Tyler was an integral member of the LDHS band, and left his mark on many people through his musical performance and mentorship. After graduation, he continued to play trumpet in the jazz band at the University of North Texas and later, Harding University.
Louis B. Drozd, Jr., Memorial Endowed Scholarship
The family and friends of Louis B. Drozd, Jr. established the Louis B. Drozd, Jr. Memorial Endowed Scholarship to honor their loved one, who was a longtime Lake Dallas resident and business owner. In addition to owning Lakeview Marina, Mr. Drozd also served on the Lake Dallas ISD Board of Trustees for over 17 years.
Nicholas Hibberd Memorial Endowed Scholarship
The family and friends of Nicholas Hibberd established the Nicholas Hibberd Memorial Endowed Scholarship to honor 1997 Lake Dallas High School Graduate, Nicholas Hibberd. Nicholas was very active in all aspects of high school life and was a role model to those who knew him. His life was cut tragically short in December of 2002 in an aviation accident.
CW2 Christopher Chabot Martin Memorial Endowed Scholarship
In July 2005, Christopher Chabot Martin, son of Donna Chabot of Denton, and Bruce Martin and Sarah Kennedy of Lake Dallas, perished when his Apache helicopter crashed in Fort Hood, Texas during training for the U.S. Army in preparation for his unit’s deployment to Iraq.
